He is considered one of the greatest comic geniuses of all times. His career transcended the early days of silent movies to the talkies that are commonplace today. In his later life, his political views overshadowed his entertainment, but he is still remembered as one of the great movie icons. Today’s FamSite looks at a site that is dedicated to his memory.

Called The Chaplin Society, this site is the online presence of a fan club dedicated to the career and films of Sir Charles Chaplin.   1. Please can you help me on a non business matter. I live in the USA and therefore cannot get a bus to check this out. I am searching for a grandfather who played in the street with the Chaplin boys about 1901/02. Charlie was living at 3 Pownall Terrace of Kennington Road in Lambeth. I cannot find that on the A-Z London map. Please could you tell me if the Terrace is still there, and if not, do you know where it was? Was there a plaque or something to mark it. I sent an email to the Royal Mail and had no reply. Hoping you can help in locating the area where my grandfather lived, he could have been from St.Stephens Terrace, but I don’t know how close that is to Charlie’s known address. Thank you. Len.
