Voice Words: A Father’s Journal

Being a father is a special job and duty that has some awesome responsiblities. So I thought a site about fathers would be appropriate. The one I found today is one not only for wives and children to read, but also us fathers (or father-wannabes).

It is called Voice Words: A Father’s Journal. It is a series of inspiring articles about one man’s journey through the perils and joys of parenthood. From taking advice from friends (“…move around, it’s only when they start school you have to settle down….”) to memories of children (“….we need a new camera….”) to entertainment (Kill Your TV, part 1), these articles share one man’s feelings with the world on how much his family means to him. On one level, they represent a chronology of raising his family. On another level, they present feelings and thoughts that all men have come across at one time or another. Feelings? From a man? Yes, we do have them, but at times it is hard to express them. This site shows how it can be done, and done well.

Being a parent in the 90’s was tough. Being one in the 00’s is going to be even tougher. The way we were raised is so far removed from the concepts of child rearing today, it is incredible. Any new tip, or method, or concept will be a big help. This site goes a long way in giving insight to what it means to be a father.
