Your Kid Could Win $10,000 For Watching A Movie – Check this out!

If your kid spends a large amount of time in front of some kind of screen, wouldn’t it be great to know he’s learning something and could win a $10,000 college scholarship too?

The KIDS FIRST  Film Critic Search is open to any kid age 6 to 15 from now until October 20th. Here are the two ways to win great prizes.

First, your child can write a review and record a video of it for any of these movies: Tom & Jerry Meet Sherlock Holmes, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Furry Vengeance, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Secret of Moonacre, Jumping for Joy, The Velveteen Rabbit and The Velveteen Rabbit Director’s Cut – which are available for purchase at Toys “R” Us stores and Amazon.com.

Discussion guides for all these films are available on the KIDS FIRST website. Your child should write a review (maximum 1,000 words) first by October 10th, 2010 and then he/she will be sent instructions on how to upload a video of their submission by midnight October 20th, 2010 – so hurry!

Big-name celebrities will be judging the contest – they will be announced very soon. Five winners will be chosen from the entrants. Prizes include participation at Red Carpet events, attending movie premieres, interviewing celebrities, reviewing and blogging about new films as well as $200 worth of prizes.

Film Critic winners will be announced at the KIDS FIRST!® Film Critics Weekend, taking place November 12-14, 2010 in Fort Worth, Texas, in conjunction with the Lone Star International Film Festival.

For the $10,000 college scholarship contest, one winner will be chosen from the entrants who write about The Velveteen Rabbit Director’s Cut. The scholarship is provided by Stepping Stones Entertainment and the deadline for entry is November 30, 2010.

Campaign support comes from national nonprofit organizations that include the National Education Association, Reel Fathers, National Association of Elementary School Principals and the National Council of Women’s Organizations, with a cumulative 17+ million members.  Stepping Stone Entertainment will donate a percentage of The Velveteen Rabbit DVD sales to KIDS FIRST!®.
