A Trip to England with Dorothy and Barbara

It used to be, years ago, that when people took vacations, it was customary to send a post card to the folks back home. You know, the customary “Having a wonderful time, wish you were here”, etc. etc. Then when they returned, it was hours of looking at photographs and (shudder) home movies and, more recently, (double shudder) videos.

Today’s site puts a little different twist on sharing travel adventures with everyone. A Trip to England with Dorothy and Barbara is a site that features the highlights of two-life long friends’ 2-week bus tour of the British Isles. It is done in journal style, with a down home type of writing, sort of like a letter home to the folks. It is very easy to read, and one gets an understanding of what is like to go on vacation in a foreign country (even if they speak English). In addition to the writings, there are photographs of the pair, as well as a most complete collection of links to the Isles that I have ever seen. The text is hyperlinked as well.

This site is a fun one to visit (even if it on my local ISP). It shows how creative people can be when developing a web site, and how well it can be put together. The subject matter is not boring, and there is enough content here to keep a web surfer of any age entertained. Enjoy your stop.
