Hi there, Saddle pals! Welcome to the latest edition of WorldVillage Family Site of the Day. We’re goin’ to be headin’ back to the Old West for today’s site, and we will do it without leaving the comfort of that ol’ computer chair you’re sittin’ in.
The site today is named after a musical group that is celebrating their 20th anniversary this year. The group is called Riders in the Sky, and their musical style is rooted in the songs of years gone by. The group consist of Ranger Doug (“the Idol of American Youth”), Woody Paul (“King of the Cowboy Fiddlers”), and Too Slim ( Insert Title of Your Choice Here). Their style of music has grown over the years, and is a well-balanced mix of classic and original western songs, smooth harmonies, hot licks, and some outrageous comedy. At this site, a visitor can discover what makes the group click, find out where they are playing next (when you get to Oregon in September, guys, give me a call), and pay a visit to the world famous Too Slim’s Mercantile, where you too, can purchase a Cac-tie.
The emphasis on the shows that Riders in the Sky perform is on family entertainment. So if you haven’t heard of them before, check out this page, and then make a point of seeing them when they appear in your area. If you haven’t seen them before, you’re in for a treat.
