Called Bluejacket dot com, this site’s title is derived from the slang term for an enlisted sailor. Blue was (and is) the traditional color of the naval uniform. But this site is more than details on uniforms and what they look like. Here you can find out about traditions, terms, and customs, and their origins, such as ditty bag, larboard, and aye, aye. There are histories of the types of ships that have served our country, as well as pictures of them (such as the new aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman CVN75). There is also information about the U.S. Marine Corps and Coast Guard as well.
