National Runaway Switchboard
Being a parent, one thing I worry about is the safety of my children. In the current day and age, children are growing up faster and maturing at an earlier age. This leads to conflicts within the family, and sometimes one member leaves. When it is one of the younger ones, well, that is the reason for today’s Family Site.
The site is called National Runaway Switchboard. This site is an information clearing house on how to help prevent kids running away, what can kids do after they have runaway, and hopefully help reunite families. The HOME FREE program is a way for a child to get home, via a free bus ticket. There are other services here; too numerous to mention in the limited space here.
Most runaways don’t have access to a computer or the Internet. If you know of someone looking of a way home, or know of someone who does, then give him or her this number. Better yet, print out the page here and give it to them. Help them to make the call that can reunite them, and change their lives.
