ThinkQuest 2000
Challenging our children to learn in school is a seemingly endless task. One way to help is to be able to provide the resources that can enable them to live up to their potential. Books, pens, and paper are necessary, but there is more. Today’s FamSite is one that can provide some of those resources, and it a definite youth oriented theme to it.
It is called ThinkQuest 2000. This site is one that, in it’s own words, “is an educational initiative committed to advancing learning through the use of computer and networking technology. It challenges teachers and students of all ages to use the Internet in innovative and exciting ways as a collaborative, interactive teaching and learning tool”. With an increase in availability in Internet access, it is indeed becoming a true resource, taking its place alongside the encyclopedia and periodical magazines that we grew up with.
So stop by this site, and check it out. Be sure to order the free CD-ROM, which includes an off-line version of the site, Internet tools and tutorials, and samples of student works. This is a site that is worth book marking and returning to often.
