Jell-O: 100 Years

“J – E – L – L – O”

Those letters have been opening television and radio commercials for, well, as long as there has been radio and television. Many of us growing up today remember Bill Cosby being the spokesman for their pudding. A quality product that is as American as apple pie, almost (nothing can replace mom’s apple pie).

At today’s site, a visitor can learn about the history of this most enjoyable food. There are suggested recipes, tips on how to cook with it, an online store where Jell-O-junkies can find the latest and greatest in products. There are links to other Kraft food sites, but stay with the Jell-O area; it is the most fun.

There is always room for Jell-O, is what my mom always said. My kids loved it as babies, since it was a play food for them (and we have the pictures to prove it). Kraft calls it the Champagne of Jell-O. Why not go have a jiggler and decide for yourself?

  1. dear sir, mam.
I have for many years bought your products. And we always where very content with it. But lately we are paying more attention on the expiration dates, for we had bought other prducts, not of your firm, that had been badly spoiled, and had done harm to our whole families health. As we went shopping today we bought again a lot of the chocolate and vanilla instant pudding and pie fillings. Looking at the boxes, we could not find any expiration dates but other numbers, that we where unfortunately unable to understand. We would very much appreciate, if you would get us some info on that asap. All we can read on those little boxes is: 316102 18:13, the scanner number is 43000 20472. Please let us know how in the future to read and know how long we can store those articles in our house.
For your kind help we thank you
    kind regards Mrs (sstg,ret.)Ron Parquette

  2. Dear Customer Services Person,
I have over the years enjoyed and received very high praises for my (your) Peachy Sauterne Salad as published in your Gelatin Salad Selector, c General Mills Corporation 1980. I have had, recently, a rather difficult time finding Peach flavored gelatin and the last time I was able to purchase this flavored gelatin there were just two boxes on the shelf and the clerk said there were no more in inventory. I gathered that meant the store would not stock this item in the future.
I would like to know where I might purchase this item, I would like to have a source on hand. This is truly a delightful salad and has been enjoyed by all who have had a taste of it. I would appreciate knowing where I might find this item in my neighborhood. I reside at:
    2308 Summertime Lane
    Culver City, CA 90230-4575
Thanking you in advance for your assistance in this matter.
    Sincerely,
    T. H. Finney

  3. I used to have a recipe for jello cake, or maybe it was pudding cake. After baking the cake, you made holes in the cake and poured the jello or pudding over the cake so it filled the holes. I can’t find the exact recipe anymore. Would you happen to have it in your archives somewhere. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

  4. Attention Nancy- The cake you are looking for is called POKE & POUR cake. Just bake your favorite flavor of cake and let it cool- thenmake your flavor of JELLO and cool it a bit and then poke holes in the cake with fork. Pour the cooled JELLOover the cake and refrigerate untill set. You can then top with COOLWHIP or prepared JELLO PUDDING and ENJOY!!!

  12. Do you still make the product called , if I remmber correctly : Americana Egg Custard .You would just add the mix with milk and boil it. Then pour in custard cups.

  13. Are you really that ignorant to think that there are no animal parts in “GELATIN”. Come on people. Anything with any type of hoof contains gelatin. I thought we learned that in the 1st grade.

  14. Hi we enjoy the pudding & jello. But it would be very helpful to know what the codes are for expiration. We like to keep extra boxes on hand… but then we dont know when they are still good by these codes. 933708? 133408, 1300d812, etc…
    thanks,
