Cycling in the Tibetan Boderlands
Today’s site was selected by the Random Yahoo! Link. That is not to demean it, for it is a very good site. I thought I would try another way to select a family site, and see what came up. If this is popular, I may try it again, even if it is kind of like Internet Roulette.
What came up was an interesting site about Cycling in the Tibetan Borderlands. It is the story of 3 friends who rode through some of the toughest and remotest country in the world, and how they did it. It is an area of the world that is very rarely seen by western cultures, so it is an exciting place to visit. There are links to the story and the photographs taken by one of the group. There is also a chance to visit the sponsors of the trip, and check out the equipment that was used on this trip that went between 7,000 and 15,000 feet of elevation.
The information contained here is an interesting reflection on what travelers see these days, when they take off on a bicycle ride. The pictures are gorgeous to look at, and the journal holds one spellbound while reading it.
